As part of the Mount Waverley Reserve Masterplan, we are reconstructing the car park at Mount Waverley Reserve to improve accessibility for all visitors.

The Mount Waverley Reserve Masterplan was developed to increase opportunities for physical activity by upgrading and improving the provision of infrastructure for active recreation and play.

Significant funding was secured from the Australian and Victorian Governments to support the project, as well as contributions from Council, Cricket Victoria, AFL Victoria and the tenant clubs.

What we’ll be doing

We are reconstructing the car park at Mount Waverley Reserve to improve accessibility for all visitors to the reserve. The project involves:

• Demolition of the tennis courts and associated infrastructure, including the high chain mesh fencing. Residential fencing alongside the existing courts will be replaced with new 1.95m timber fencing at the end of the project.
• Removal of the old cricket nets along St Albans Street.
• Construction of a new car park.
• Installation of a bin storage cage for use by the reserve’s sporting clubs.
• The car park will be set back from the reserve boundary, allowing for tree planting to create a natural privacy screen for nearby homes.
  
  

Construction of a new car park will feature:

• 110 standard car spaces
• 5 accessible spaces
• 6 motorbike spaces
• Lighting to improve safety during evening events
  
  

Possible impacts for local residents and visitors

• The works will be delivered in 2 phases, to ensure some parking remains available throughout the project. However, please be aware that parking will be limited during construction.
• Temporary fencing will be used around the construction zones to ensure community safety.
