French for Fun with Serge - Adults Classes

Join our existing French course if you plan to visit a French-speaking country or wish to refresh your existing knowledge. You will develop the ability to communicate with French speakers both in Melbourne and abroad, introducing yourself, shopping, making or answering telephone calls, telling the time, reserving a table and ordering from a French menu, using travel guides, understanding directions, reading timetables, interpreting signs and notices, enjoying a French Sunday market, and seeking medical help if required.

Each week, you will also explore French culture, including art, cuisine, music and cinema, the regions of France, and the monuments of Paris. Audio-visual and authentic printed materials will help develop your conversational, listening, and comprehension skills, with only a minor emphasis on writing. French will initially be taught through English, and pronunciation practice will help you communicate more confidently. Learning material will be provided at each lesson, and no textbook is required.

The course is customised to meet the needs and levels of participants.
