Legendary photographer Mervyn Bishop has shot many iconic moments in his career, including the groundbreaking time when Prime Minister Gough Whitlam poured soil into the hand of traditional owner Vincent Lingiari.
Mervyn was the first Indigenous man to forge a professional pathway in news photography, and he's coming Monash to discuss his decades-long career.
Join us at the Museum of Australian Photography (MAPh) in Wheelers Hill for this free in-conversation and book-signing event, where Mervyn and his biographer Tim Dobbyn discuss the many fascinating stories woven through the fabric of Mervyn's life as a press photographer: the people he's met, the scenes he's shot, the changes he's witnessed.
