Our purpose: We undertake planning, partnership, promotion, engagement and service delivery activities for children, young people and their families, to ensure they have the best opportunities to grow, learn and thrive in a strong and supported community, and build a strong future.

Our services
Services and activities delivered by this department include:
Maternal, Child and Family Health, and Immunisation
Maternal, Child and Family Health Service provides support to families with infants and young children from a number of centres located across the municipality. Other services include breastfeeding service, sleep and settling service, an enhanced program for vulnerable families as well as an outreach program for families unable to attend a centre-based service.
Immunisation Service provides infant vaccines across the municipality and an immunisation program for secondary school students.
Early Years
Youth, Family and Support Services
Youth, Family and Support Services provide programs, events and services to children, young people, their families and the wider community through Council facilities, schools, community and street-based outreach:
- Youth Worker Support for young people aged 8–25.
- Youth development and participation programs for young people aged 8–25.
- All ages community events and workshops.
- Family Services support for vulnerable families with children aged 0–17 years and delivery of parenting workshops.
- Homelessness outreach and support to the wider community.
Strategy, Planning and Partnerships
Strategy, Planning and Partnerships for Children, Youth and Family Services supports the strategic planning, coordination and delivery of services, infrastructure and partnerships that meet the needs of children, young people and families in Monash.
The team leads long-term planning and works collaboratively across council, government and community partners to ensure services and facilities are evidence-based, responsive and aligned to future community needs.
The team’s work includes:
- Strategic and service planning to respond to current and emerging needs
- Planning and delivery of infrastructure that supports Children, Youth and Family Services
- Development of partnerships that strengthen outcomes for children, young people and families
- Research, data analysis and community engagement to inform decision-making
