I’ve already submitted my preferences. Why am I doing this again?

You may have already selected your kinder preferences through an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Now that applications have opened for 2027, you need to confirm or update those preferences and submit your application.

Please check your email for a link from us to confirm your preferences.

Can I change the kindergartens I originally selected in my EOI?

Yes, you can change your kinder preferences when you submit your application.

Please check your preferred kindergarten’s 2027 timetables before submitting your preferences.

Can I change my preferences after I submit my application?

Yes, you can change your kinder preferences before 30 June.

To change them, email kinderenrolments@monash.vic.gov.au

We recommend reviewing timetables carefully before submitting to reduce the need for changes.

Any changes submitted after 30 June will be processed after first, second and third round offers (usually mid-August).

Once applications open, is it first in, first allocated?

No. All applications received by 30 June are processed together. There is no benefit to applying earlier.

Allocations are made according to the Victorian Government’s Priority of Access Criteria, and our kindergarten enrolment policy.

Applications received after 30 June will be processed after third-round offers (usually mid-August).

How many preferences can I list?

You can select up to 3 preferences.

Listing more options may increase your chances of receiving an offer that suits your needs.

My child is currently in 3-year-old kinder. Will they get a place at the same kinder for 4-year-old kinder?

There is no guarantee of a place at the same kinder. However children currently attending the service, are included in the Victorian Government’s Priority of Access Criteria, as Tier 2 Priority.

How will I know that my application has been received?

You will receive an email confirming your submission. If you can’t find the email, please check your spam or junk folder.

An application is not complete until you receive a confirmation email.

The email confirms we’ve received your application but does not guarantee a place.

When will offers for 2027 kindergarten be made?

Mid-July: First round offers are emailed (with an SMS reminder).

  • These offers are for families who live in Monash or meet the Priority of Access criteria.
  • You will have 7 days to respond. If we do not receive a response within 7 days, the offer will be withdrawn.

Late July – mid-August: Second and third round offers

  • Second and third round offers are sent, including to families outside Monash.
  • The same 7-day response period applies.

What if I don’t receive an offer?

If you don’t receive an offer in the first round, your application will be considered in second and third rounds.

If places are still available after these rounds, we will continue to offer places as they become available.

What if I don’t submit an application by 30 June?

Applications received after 30 June will be processed after third-round offers (usually mid-August).

Where is the previous kindergarten parent portal?

In September 2025, we moved to a new application system, so the previous parent portal is no longer available.

To apply for 2027, you’ll need to submit a new application with your kinder preferences by 30 June.

There is no disadvantage to submitting a new application. All applications for 2027 received by 30 June are processed together.
