In June 2022, Council approved a proposal for the development of a 5-storey apartment building providing for 69 apartments and 2 levels of basement carparking for 109 vehicles.

Council sought community feedback on the application and received 3 objections. 

The development was approved subject to more than 40 conditions.

Background

Council sought community feedback on the proposed development of a 5-storey apartment building with 2 levels of basement car parking at 718-724 High Street Road Glen Waverley.

Feedback was formally sought by Friday 21 April 2022.

Please note that this is a new development application and independent of the previous application TPA/49276 issued on 2 May 2019 for a 4-storey apartment building with basement car parking at 720 – 722 High Street Road, Glen Waverley. This permit has subsequently expired as works had not commenced on the site.

The applicant, Ratio Consultants, proposed a $15 million development that includes:

  • Demolition of all dwellings and outbuildings on the 4 sites.
  • 5-storey building to provide for 69 apartments providing a mixture of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom units.
    • 5 x 1-bedroom
    • 47 x 2-bedroom
    • 15 x 3-bedroom
    • 2 x 4-bedroom
  • Car parking provided within 2 basement levels of carparking for a total of 109 car spaces including 13 visitor spaces.   
  • 32 bicycle spaces
