Ambulance Victoria Community Session: Call Push Shock and Heat Health

Next date: Monday, 16 November 2026 | 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Learn life-saving skills and practical safety tips in our hands-on sessions: Call Push Shock teaches CPR and AED use for cardiac emergencies, while Heat Health provides essential strategies to stay safe during extreme heat.

Call Push Shock (30 to 45 minutes)

Be ready to save a life with the Call Push Shock program – an empowering, hands-on session that teaches you how to respond confidently in a cardiac emergency. Learn how to overcome common barriers to taking action and remember the three simple steps that make all the difference: Call Triple Zero (000), Push hard and fast on the patient’s chest, and Shock their heart using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Using an interactive heart prop and information mat, this engaging session demonstrates the critical importance of CPR and early defibrillation. Participants will gain practical experience, confidence, and the skills needed to act quickly and effectively when every second counts.

Heat Health (30 minutes)

Stay safe and healthy this summer with our Heat Health presentation – available from December to March each year. This 30-minute session provides essential advice on recognising and preventing heat-related illnesses, staying hydrated, and protecting vulnerable groups such as older adults, young children, and people with existing health conditions.

Learn how to create heat-safe environments at home and outdoors, understand the warning signs of heat stress, and discover practical ways to care for yourself and your community during extreme heat events. Whether you’re preparing for a hot summer ahead or live in a region prone to heatwaves, this session will help you stay cool, safe, and informed.
